Description

A quick and hearty version of the classic Beef Stroganoff, made with ground beef and a creamy sauce, perfect for weeknight dinners or gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 8 oz fresh mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups low-sodium beef broth
  • 1 cup full-fat sour cream
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooked egg noodles or rice for serving

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef for about 5–7 minutes until cooked through.
  2. Add chopped onion and minced garlic; sauté for another 3–4 minutes until softened.
  3. Stir in sliced mushrooms and cook until tender, approximately 5 minutes.
  4. Sprinkle flour over the mixture and stir well.
  5. Gradually add beef broth while stirring continuously to avoid lumps.
  6. Simmer for 3–5 minutes until slightly thickened.
  7. Reduce heat and fold in sour cream, seasoning with salt and pepper to taste.
  8. Serve over cooked egg noodles or rice, garnishing with fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

For a thicker sauce, let it simmer a bit longer before adding sour cream. Fresh herbs can enhance flavor.
