Description

A comforting dish of ground beef served with rich gravy over creamy mashed potatoes, evoking warm memories of home-cooked meals.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 cups mashed potatoes
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 cup milk

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat.
  2. Add chopped onion and garlic, cooking until the onion is translucent.
  3. Sprinkle flour over the beef and stir to combine, cooking for 1-2 minutes.
  4. Gradually add beef broth, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens. Season with salt and pepper.
  5. In a separate pot, prepare mashed potatoes by combining boiled potatoes, butter, and milk; mash until creamy.
  6. Serve the ground beef gravy over a generous scoop of mashed potatoes.

Notes

For a lighter version, substitute some ground beef with ground turkey or chicken. Add Worcestershire sauce for extra flavor.
