Description

A comforting and flavorful BBQ cheddar meatloaf, perfect for weeknight dinners or casual gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450g) ground beef
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 finely diced onion
  • 2 cloves minced garlic
  • ¼ cup BBQ sauce (for mixing, plus extra for topping)
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg (beaten)
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • ¼ cup milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, finely diced onion, minced garlic, breadcrumbs, shredded cheddar cheese, beaten egg, Worcestershire sauce, milk, and ¼ cup of BBQ sauce.
  3. Season with salt and pepper, then mix until just combined.
  4. Transfer the mixture into the prepared loaf pan and shape into a loaf.
  5. Spread a layer of the remaining BBQ sauce over the top.
  6. Bake for 40-60 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70-71°C).
  7. Let rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

Allow the meatloaf to rest before slicing for maximum moisture retention. Experiment with different add-ins to customize flavor.
