A comforting and flavorful BBQ cheddar meatloaf, perfect for weeknight dinners or casual gatherings.
Ingredients
- 1 lb (450g) ground beef
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 finely diced onion
- 2 cloves minced garlic
- ¼ cup BBQ sauce (for mixing, plus extra for topping)
- ½ cup breadcrumbs
- 1 egg (beaten)
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- ¼ cup milk
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a loaf pan.
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, finely diced onion, minced garlic, breadcrumbs, shredded cheddar cheese, beaten egg, Worcestershire sauce, milk, and ¼ cup of BBQ sauce.
- Season with salt and pepper, then mix until just combined.
- Transfer the mixture into the prepared loaf pan and shape into a loaf.
- Spread a layer of the remaining BBQ sauce over the top.
- Bake for 40-60 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70-71°C).
- Let rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
Allow the meatloaf to rest before slicing for maximum moisture retention. Experiment with different add-ins to customize flavor.
