Description

Delicious banana bread cookies that combine the comforting flavors of ripe bananas, brown sugar, and chocolate chips.


Ingredients

  • 1 ripe banana
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mash the ripe banana in a bowl.
  3. Cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
  4. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract. Mix in the mashed banana.
  5. Whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, stirring until combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  7. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto a lined baking sheet.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
  9. Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

For an extra twist, add a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg to enhance the flavor. Chilling the dough before baking can prevent excessive spreading.
