A delightful fusion of banana bread and brownies, these treats combine ripe bananas and rich cocoa for a comforting dessert.
Ingredients
- 2 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/2 cup melted butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon butter, cut into small pieces
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Prepare a 9×13-inch baking pan by greasing it and lining it with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, mash the bananas until smooth.
- Add the melted butter, granulated sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract. Beat until well combined.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, and cocoa powder.
- Gradually incorporate the dry mixture into the wet ingredients until just combined.
- Stir in the milk and optional chocolate chips, if using.
- Spread the batter evenly in the prepared pan.
- Mix the brown sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl and sprinkle it over the batter.
- Dot with pieces of butter.
- Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out with a few crumbs.
- Allow to cool for 10 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.
Notes
Use ripe bananas for maximum sweetness and flavor. Consider chilling the batter for an hour for richer flavors.
