Description

A delightful fusion of banana bread and brownies, these treats combine ripe bananas and rich cocoa for a comforting dessert.

Ingredients

  • 2 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon butter, cut into small pieces

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare a 9×13-inch baking pan by greasing it and lining it with parchment paper.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, mash the bananas until smooth.
  4. Add the melted butter, granulated sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract. Beat until well combined.
  5. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, and cocoa powder.
  6. Gradually incorporate the dry mixture into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  7. Stir in the milk and optional chocolate chips, if using.
  8. Spread the batter evenly in the prepared pan.
  9. Mix the brown sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl and sprinkle it over the batter.
  10. Dot with pieces of butter.
  11. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out with a few crumbs.
  12. Allow to cool for 10 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.

Notes

Use ripe bananas for maximum sweetness and flavor. Consider chilling the batter for an hour for richer flavors.
