Ingredients
- 1/2 cup (120 ml) uncooked Quinoa
- 1 Apple of choice, cored and diced
- 2 1/2 cups (590 ml) Water
- 2 teaspoons (10 ml) Maple Syrup or more to taste
- 1 teaspoon (5 ml) Cinnamon
- 1/3 cup (80 g) Walnut Halves, optional
- 1 teaspoon (5 ml) Raw Cacao Nibs, optional
Instructions
- Thoroughly wash the quinoa with hot water to eliminate impurities and bitterness.
- Cut your preferred apple into small pieces.
- Combine quinoa, half of the chopped apple, and water in a small pot. Heat uncovered on medium-high until it starts to boil. Lower the heat and let it cook gently for 15-20 minutes, stirring now and then, until most of the water is absorbed. Take the pot off the heat.
- Mix the cooked quinoa with maple syrup and cinnamon.
- Split the quinoa into two servings and garnish with the rest of the diced apple, walnuts, and cacao nibs.
Notes
- Toast walnuts in a dry pan for extra crunch before adding to the dish.
