Description

Delicious homemade apple cinnamon rolls with spiced filling and cream cheese frosting that create warm memories around the table.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup apple pie filling
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar


Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, heat milk and butter until warm (not boiling). Stir in the yeast and let it sit for 5 minutes.
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, and salt. Pour in the milk mixture along with the egg, then combine until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough for about 5 minutes until smooth. Let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
  4. Roll out the dough on a floured surface and spread apple pie filling evenly on top.
  5. Sprinkle with cinnamon, then roll the dough tightly and cut into rolls.
  6. Place the rolls in a greased baking dish and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
  7. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake rolls for 20-25 minutes.
  8. For the frosting, mix cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth, then drizzle it over the warm rolls before serving.

Notes

For fluffier rolls, ensure ingredients are at room temperature and check yeast expiration. You can refrigerate the shaped rolls overnight for an easy morning bake.
