Ingredients
- 1/2 cup (120 ml) mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) sour cream
- 2 tablespoons (30 ml) apple cider vinegar
- 1/2 teaspoon (3 ml) celery seed
- 1/4 teaspoon (1 ml) salt
- 1/4 teaspoon (1 ml) ground black pepper
- 4 cups (600 g) shredded coleslaw mix
- 1 cup (150 g) coarsely chopped red apple
- 1/2 cup (120 ml) diced celery, about 2 stalks
- 1/2 cup (75 g) sliced almonds, toasted
Instructions
- To prepare the dressing, mix together the mayonnaise, sour cream, apple cider vinegar, celery seed, salt, and ground black pepper in a small bowl. Whisk until the mixture is smooth and uniform. Set this aside.
- In a large bowl, combine the shredded coleslaw mix, chopped red apple, diced celery, and toasted sliced almonds. Toss the ingredients together until well mixed.
- Drizzle the prepared dressing over the slaw mixture, and gently stir to ensure everything is evenly coated. Cover the bowl and chill in the refrigerator for at least one hour or longer. When ready to serve, portion the slaw into salad bowls.
Notes
- For a lighter option, switch sour cream for Greek yogurt for a tangy kick.
- Add a tablespoon of honey to the dressing for a hint of sweetness.
- Mix in crispy bacon bits for added crunch before serving.
