Ingredients

  • – 1 large zucchini, sliced thinly (about 3 mm thick)
  • – Salt
  • – 2 tablespoons (30 ml) vegetable oil
  • – 1/2 – 1 teaspoon (8 ml) garlic powder, adjust to taste preference

Instructions

  1. Place the zucchini slices in a single layer on a paper towel. Generously sprinkle salt over each slice and allow them to rest for 5-10 minutes.
  2. Blot the zucchini with a paper towel or cloth to dry them, then transfer them to a large bowl.
  3. Pour vegetable oil and sprinkle garlic powder into the bowl. Mix the zucchini slices until they are thoroughly coated.
  4. Lay the zucchini slices in a single layer in the air fryer, either on trays or in the basket.
  5. Cook them in the air fryer at 400°F for 15-20 minutes. Around the 10-minute mark, check the zucchini and transfer any chips that are crispy or beginning to brown at the edges to a cooling rack.
  6. Continue air frying until all the zucchini chips are crispy and have golden edges. Let the chips cool on a wire rack for a few minutes before serving to maintain their crispiness.

Notes

  • Patting dry the zucchini slices thoroughly after salting ensures crispier chips by removing excess moisture.
  • Adjust the garlic powder amount to your taste preference, starting with less and adding more if desired.
  • Check zucchini chips periodically while air frying to remove crispy ones, preventing burning and ensuring even cooking.
