Nutritious and easy-to-make bagels infused with protein, perfect for breakfast or a snack.
Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- A pinch of salt (optional)
- 1 cup + 2 tablespoons cottage cheese (2% or 4%)
- 1 egg (optional, for brushing)
- Everything seasoning, poppy seeds, or sesame seeds for toppings
Instructions
- Combine the flour and baking powder in a medium bowl. Add a pinch of salt if desired.
- Add the cottage cheese, mixing until a chunky dough forms.
- Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for 1-2 minutes until smooth.
- Divide the dough into four sections, roll each into a log (6-7 inches long), and join the ends to form bagels.
- Whisk the egg with water or milk and brush over the bagels, adding desired toppings.
- Preheat the air fryer to 300°F and prepare the basket. Cook the bagels for 15-17 minutes, checking at 10 minutes, until golden brown.
- Cool for at least 15 minutes before slicing and serving.
