Description
A flavorful Korean dish featuring tender chicken thighs marinated in a rich blend of sweetness and spice, cooked to crispy perfection in an air fryer.
Ingredients
- 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs
- 1/2 Korean pear (or apple/pear juice substitute)
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 1 tbsp avocado oil
- 1 tbsp gochujang (optional for spice)
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp sesame seeds for garnish
- 2 green onions, chopped for garnish
Instructions
- Blend the Korean pear, soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, sesame oil, avocado oil, and gochujang until smooth.
- Coat the chicken thighs in the marinade and let them rest for at least one hour, or ideally overnight.
- Preheat the air fryer to 385°F.
- Cook the chicken for 25 minutes, flipping halfway through.
- Sear the chicken in a hot skillet until golden brown, adding extra marinade.
- Cook on low heat for about eight minutes per side until fully cooked.
- Plate the chicken, garnish with sesame seeds and green onions, and serve with steamed rice, lettuce wraps, or pickled vegetables.
Notes
Marinating overnight yields the best flavor. Ensure your air fryer isn’t overcrowded for even cooking.
