Description
Crispy and delicious Air Fryer Cauliflower Hash Browns made with riced cauliflower, cheese, and seasonings, perfect for breakfast or a snack.
Ingredients
- 3 cups riced cauliflower (about 1/2 head or thawed frozen)
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup all-purpose or almond flour
- 3/4 cup cheddar cheese (shredded)
- 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese (grated)
- 1/2 cup onion (chopped)
- 1/4 cup red bell pepper (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- Garnish: chopped parsley or sliced green onion
Instructions
- If using fresh cauliflower, remove leaves and center stalk, then cut into small florets and pulse in a food processor until rice-like. If using frozen, ensure it’s thawed.
- Microwave the riced cauliflower in a bowl uncovered on high for 2 minutes. Let it cool for a few minutes.
- Squeeze out excess moisture using paper towels to make crispier hash browns.
- In the same bowl, combine the cooled, dried cauliflower with egg, flour, cheeses, onion, red bell pepper (if using), and seasonings. Mix until well combined.
- Shape the mixture into 8 equal patties about 1/2 inch thick.
- Preheat the air fryer to 400°F for 5 minutes.
- Spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray, place 4 patties inside, spray the tops with oil, and cook for 12-15 minutes, turning halfway through and spraying after flipping.
- Once browned and crispy, remove the hash browns and garnish with chopped parsley or sliced green onion.
Notes
Make sure to thoroughly squeeze out moisture from the cauliflower before cooking for the best texture.
