  • Plain cottage cheese, 1 cup (245 g)
  • Apple juice, 1/4 cup (60 ml)
  • Garlic cloves, 3, minced
  • Fresh cilantro, chopped, 2 tablespoons (8 g)
  • Vegetable oil, melted, 2 tablespoons (28 g)

Instructions

  2. Add 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar to the dry ingredients and mix well.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix 1 cup of plain cottage cheese with 1/4 cup of milk until smooth.
  4. Pour the cottage cheese mixture into the dry ingredients.
  5. Add the minced 3 garlic cloves and 2 tablespoons of chopped fresh cilantro to the bowl.
  6. Mix the ingredients together until a soft dough forms.
  7. Lightly flour a clean surface and knead the dough for about 2 minutes.
  8. Divide the dough into 6 equal portions and shape each into a ball.
  9. Roll each dough ball into a small circle, about 1/4 inch thick.
  10. Preheat a skillet or non-stick pan over medium heat.
  11. Place one rolled dough circle onto the hot skillet.
  12. Cook for 1-2 minutes until bubbles form on the surface.
  13. Flip the naan and cook for another 1-2 minutes until golden brown.
  14. Remove the naan from the skillet and brush with melted butter.
  15. Repeat the cooking process with the remaining dough portions.
  16. Serve the garlic cottage cheese naan warm.

Notes

  • For a more robust flavor, swap out salt for beef broth powder in the dough.
  • Enhance the garlic taste by incorporating an additional clove or two into the dough.
  • Try using water instead of apple juice for a milder flavor in the naan.
