Description
Warm and comforting cabbage rolls filled with a delightful mix of Italian sausage, ground beef, and aromatic vegetables.
Ingredients
- Cabbage leaves
- 1 lb Italian sausage
- 1 lb Ground beef
- 1 cup Cooked rice
- 1 Chopped onion
- 2 Cloves minced garlic
- 1 cup Tomato sauce
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Pepper
- Optional: Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Boil cabbage leaves in salted water for 5–7 minutes until tender.
- In a skillet, cook chopped onion and garlic until softened.
- In a bowl, mix cooked rice, Italian sausage, ground beef, sautéed onion and garlic, salt, and pepper.
- Place a portion of the filling in each cabbage leaf, roll tightly, and tuck in the sides.
- Spread some tomato sauce on the bottom of a baking dish.
- Place the cabbage rolls seam-side down in the dish and pour remaining sauce over the top.
- Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
- If using, sprinkle with Parmesan cheese before serving.
Notes
For added flavor, consider seasoning your filling with herbs like parsley or oregano. Leftover filling makes a great dish on its own.
